外语学院外籍教师系列学术讲座
时间: 2013年5月14日(周二下午3:00-4:30) 地点:语言室304 主讲人:Ronald Kurtenbach 博士 讲座题目:Irony in learning creatively through a critical reading of Edgar Allan Poe's, short story, "The Cask of the Amontillado" 主要内容: This lecture centers on the concept that a sense of irony is a concept integral to the very nature of creativity itself, a particularly high and unexpected level of creativity. Irony, like analogy, is a trope in language that opens up a reader to possibilities of interpretation that are not obviously to be expected, thus being a category of creativity that is particularly far-reaching and authentic. The word play in Poe's short story is especially ingenious. Reader practices of experiencing the ironic meanings of Poe's short story's text, is a virtual lesson in a critical method of reading, which developed further, concerns some of the most recent postmodern critical analyses that intrigue recent philosophic inquiries like that of the deconstructionists ... Jacques Derrida and Jonathan Culler. University students should have practicums in irony. Edgar Allan Poe's artful short story, "The Cask of the Amontillado" is an excellent text for such creative explorations. 报告人简介: Dr.Ronald Charles Kurtenbach Doctorate Degree in English Department of English University of Nebraska at Lincoln Lincoln, Nebraska, United States 2000
